I’m about to get on the road again. Last year I drove cross country for work and pleasure. My first stop as I drove out of the Miami area was to St. Louis, Mo. I actually stayed in St. Charles the next county. I found the people very airy and kind. They seemed to enjoy the spring in April with a gentle attitude. The Arch was a nice view. I must have brought good luck to the baseball Cardinals because they won the World Series last year.
My next city I worked in was Ft. Worth Texas. I found the people rude if I told them I was from Florida so I stayed away from that conversation. I worked as a petitioner by the way.
On the way to St. Louis we stopped in Atlanta for a few hours. We sat in a cafe for a couple of hours and thought people and the atmosphere was pleasant. On the way from St. Louis to Ft. Worth we stayed in Memphis. My Uncle who lives there warned me of the high crime there. We did see Elvis’s mansion, though. That was nice. Beale street area was interesting as I asked an old Black gentleman for directions. He was very kind and down to earth.
After Ft. Worth we went to work in Phoenix Az. It was hotter then hot but bearable. We survived. I never realized that Tempe, Phoenix and Mesa all border lined each other. It’s beautiful with all the brown dirt and mountains / foothills. I kind of enjoyed it there. In each of the cities I worked in I stayed for about a month.
Next it was off to visit another Uncle in one of the Casinos near San Diego Ca. The mountain to get to him was so high up and winding. I stayed in the hotel for 2 days. It was 5 Star all the way. Then I stayed in a rooming house for a week which was full of ants and hot. I couldn’t use her TV or kitchen. That sucked.
Then I was off to Paradise International Hostel in the LA area which was awesome. The pool and bathing beauties were a nice site for a single guy like me. It was for around $11 per night booking on line plus free coffee and pastry in the morning and free buffet at night and free drink in the afternoon.
On the way back to Tennessee for another job that didn’t work out I drove through the most beautiful and tall canyons and mountains through Arizona, Utah and Colorado. Awesome is an understatement for the beauty! It is a must see for everyone! I did only stop in Las Vegas for an hour on the way.
Nashville was pretty nice though while I was there a disturbing piece of news was the murder of a homeless woman by drowning
